Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman cleared concussion protocol Wednesday and was set to return to practice Wednesday, coach Dan Quinn announced.
Freeman had missed the previous two weeks due to a concussion sustained against the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 12. The concussion was his second since August and third in two years.
The two-time Pro Bowl selection has 116 carries for 515 yards with five rushing touchdowns this season for the Falcons (7-4), who host the Minnesota Vikings (9-2) on Sunday.
Freeman signed a five-year, $41.25 million contract extension in the offseason after helping the Falcons in their run to the Super Bowl.
The 25-year-old Freeman has amassed 2,903 rushing yards and 34 total touchdowns since being selected with a fourth-round draft pick out of Florida State in 2014.
